Heinrich von Klingen

Heinrich von Klingen († December 16, 1204 ) was abbot of the St. Gallen monastery from 1200 to 1204 .

Act

Heinrich von Klingen was elected as provost abbot of St. Gallen on January 17, 1200 . For the first time in the history of the abbey, the ministrals and the whole people took part in the election. Abbot Heinrich succeeded in paying off the debts accumulated by his predecessor Ulrich von Veringen and in buying back the monastery property that had been pledged or sold at the time. Heinrich von Klingen was a partisan of King Philip of Swabia . From this he received the confirmation of his abbot title in Ulm in 1200. 1201 he participated in the court day in Bamberg , 1202 to the court days in Esslingen and Ulm and 1203 on that in Ravensburg part.
