Ulrike Alex (born September 6, 1956 in Bremen ) is a German educator and member of the Hessian state parliament ( SPD ).

Life

Ulrike Alex came to Achim as a child and graduated from school there with a high school diploma. She studied German and history at the TU Braunschweig for teaching at grammar schools, completing the second state examination after a legal clerkship in Salzgitter . After working in the field of adult education, she has been a teacher in Dietzenbach since 2000 . She is the mother of two sons.

Alex has been a member of the SPD since 1989 and was elected to the Dietzenbach city council in 1993. Here she is chairman of the SPD parliamentary group. In addition, she has represented her party in the Offenbach district council since 2011 .

In the state elections in Hesse in 2008 , 2009 , 2013 and 2018 , she ran in the Offenbach Land II constituency . Here she was first defeated twice against Volker Hoff and then twice against Ismail Tipi . However, in the 2013 and 2018 elections, she managed to get into the state parliament via a list of the party.
