Ulrike Böker (born September 2, 1956 in Linz ) is an Austrian politician and has been a member of the state parliament for the Greens in the Upper Austrian state parliament since October 23, 2015 .

Life

Education and professional career

Ulrike Böker grew up in Ottensheim , where she attended elementary and secondary school. After completing her training as a women's and men's clothing maker, she trained as a kindergarten teacher.

From 1984 to 1991 Böker worked for the architectural office Projektgruppe 4100, freelance worker in the OK - Offenes Kulturhaus (1991), office manager of the Festival of Regions (1995) and from 1996 to 2000 organizational assistant of the architecture master class at the Art University Linz . Afterwards she was managing director of the Festival of Regions for three years and from 2000 to 2001 had a teaching position for organization and management at the Art University Linz. She was the project manager of the station theater "Barbaren" within the framework of the Festival of Regions in Ottensheim 1999 and headed the project "Kulturschiff" within the framework of the Upper Austria. Böker was and is active in various Upper Austrian cultural institutions. Since 1987 she has been a member of the cultural group Arge Granit Ottensheim. Political career

In 1997 Böker was a founding member of the citizen list pro O. Ottensheim. From 1998 to 2003 she was a local councilor in Ottensheim as a representative of the citizen list pro O. In 2003 she was elected mayor of Ottensheim. During her 12 years of full-time employment as mayor, a new office building, a building for childcare and a workshop for the polytechnic school were built in Ottensheim. In addition, the new middle school was comprehensively renovated and a meeting zone was built in the course of the redesign of a central street (Linzer Straße). In addition, a local Agenda 21 process and a project to revitalize the buildings in the town center were implemented. During this period, the municipality was awarded numerous prizes, such as the Baukultur Prize 2012 (Landluft Association in cooperation with the Austrian Association of Municipalities), Friedrich Moser Appreciation Prize 2011/2012 and 2006, VCÖ Mobility Prize 2011, Upper Austria State Prize for Environment and Nature 2005 and 2008 .

From 2002 to 2015 Böker was the deputy chairman of the Leader region uwe - Urfahr West. Since October 23, 2015 she is on the state list of the Greens as a member of the Upper Austrian. Parliament and there area spokesperson for building law, municipalities, human resources, spatial planning and housing policy. She is a member of the Committee for Local Affairs in Agriculture and Forestry and the Committee for Housing, Building Law and Nature Conservation.

Ulrike Böker lives in Ottensheim and has four children. Since 1975 she has been the soprano of the Tonart Ottensheim choir.
