Ulrike Knobloch

Ulrike Knobloch (* 1961 ) is a German economist and philosopher . Her research focus is the social economy of paid and unpaid work. She is an expert on the economics of care work and professor of economics and gender at the University of Vechta .

Career

Knobloch studied economics and philosophy at the University of Freiburg i. Br. She received her doctorate in 1994 from the University of St. Gallen . The title of her doctoral thesis was "Theory and Ethics of Consumption - Reflection on the Normative Foundations of Socio-Economic Consumption Theories".

Knobloch had lectureships at the universities of St. Gallen, Lucerne , Bern and Freiburg (Switzerland). She is co-editor of the anthology "Unpaaid und noch Arbeit" (2016) and writes regularly on the topic of care work.

Since November 2016 she has been Professor of Economics and Gender in Economics and Ethics at the University of Vechta.
