Ulrike Maria Stuart

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ulrike Maria Stuart is a play by the Austrian writer Elfriede Jelinek .

content

The content moves around the vitae of Ulrike Meinhof and Gudrun Ensslin , which are mirrored in the lives of Maria Stuart and Elisabeth I. The historical dimension of the two leading (female) heads of the RAF is presented in connection with historical figures from other epochs. The recognizable parallels show the prosperity and ruin of women in exposed positions in history and in post-war Germany in a way that was previously not tangible in the theater.

This production also provoked the Theatertreffen in Berlin.
