Ulrike Mittmann

Ulrike Mittmann (* 1961 ) is a German Protestant theologian . She has been Professor of New Testament and Ancient Religious History at the University of Osnabrück since 2008 .

Life

After studying Protestant theology (1981–1988) in Tübingen , Münster and at the Luther Northwestern Theological Seminary, she passed the first Protestant theological service examination. In 1988 she became a certified research assistant to Martin Hengel at the Institute for Ancient Judaism and Hellenistic Religious History at the Evangelical Theological Faculty in Tübingen. After the vicariate (1994–1996) in Backnang - Sachsenweiler and Steinbach in the service of the Evangelical Church in Württemberg , she passed the second evangelical-theological service examination.

After promotion to Doctor of Divinity on 7 February 1995 at the University of Tuebingen she was from 1996 to 1998 research assistant at the Institute of ancient Judaism and Hellenistic Religious History of the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Tuebingen in the context of externally funded project "Jewish writings from Hellenistic Jewish time ”. In 2002 she became a research assistant at the Institute for Ancient Judaism and Hellenistic Religious History of the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen . From 2002 to 2008 she was a research assistant at the Evangelical Theological Faculty of the University of Tübingen. After habilitation on 15 February 2005 to achieve the venia legendi in the subject New Testament at the University of Tuebingen, it became the 5 February 2012 pastor in honor Office of the Lutheran Church of Hanover ordained .

Her main research interests are Synoptics , Paul, Hebrews, New Testament hermeneutics, New Testament theology, New Testament environment, ancient Judaism and Hellenistic religious history (Qumran / Jewish writings from Hellenistic-Roman times).

Her father is the theologian Siegfried Mittmann .
