Ulrike Trautwein

Ulrike Trautwein (born December 25, 1958 in Limburg an der Lahn ) is a Protestant theologian and general superintendent for the Berlin district of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia (EKBO).

Live and act

Ulrike Trautwein studied Protestant theology at the Universities of Mainz and Marburg . After the vicariate in Giessen and at the educational science faculty of the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg , she was pastor in Laubach from 1987 to 1998 . Since 1989 she has been an author for announcements on the Hessischer Rundfunk .

In 1998, Trautwein moved to the Bockenheim community in Frankfurt am Main . Since 2003 she has been a member of the Synod of the Evangelical Church in Germany .

On May 29, 2011, Trautwein was elected general superintendent for the Berlin district of the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Silesian Upper Lusatia and on December 1, 2011, succeeded Ralf Meister, who was elected as Hanover regional bishop . On 26 November 2011 she was in a church service in the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin-Charlottenburg by Bishop Markus Dröge to office. Trautwein is thus regional bishop for around 700,000 Protestant Christians in 12 church districts in Berlin and the surrounding area. In Berlin, the theologian wants to work against child poverty and social injustice.

Trautwein is the daughter of the theologian and songwriter Dieter Trautwein and Ursula Trautwein . She has been married to Pastor Reinhold Truß-Trautwein since 1986 and has a daughter.
