Ultra Maniac ( Japanese ウ ル ト ラ マ ニ ア ッ ク ) is a manga series by the Japanese illustrator Wataru Yoshizumi . The series was also known as anime - TV series and OVA implemented.

The action revolves around the schoolgirl Ayu Tateishi, whose love for the crush Tetsushi Kaji and the magical girl Nina Sakura. The work can be assigned to the genres Shōjo , Comedy , Magical Girl and Romanticism .

action

The schoolgirl Ayu Tateishi ( 立 石 亜 由 ) is good at school, at tennis and acts cool to please her crush, Tetsushi Kaji ( 架 地 哲士 ). He is the captain of the school baseball team and is popular with all girls because of his charm. However, he doesn't really want to be so swarmed around, but acts charmingly to please Ayu.

One day, in front of school, Ayu meets the crying Nina Sakura ( 佐 倉 仁 菜 ), who has lost her laptop. After Ayu has helped her find the laptop, Nina reveals to her that she comes from a magical kingdom and that she can do magic using her laptop. She came into this world because she failed the magic school exam. Now she should learn more here. She helps Ayu with her daily problems.

So Tetsushi manages to go out with Ayu, while Tetsushi's friend Hiroki Tsujiai ( 辻 合 宏基 ) falls in love with Nina. Then Yuta Kirishima ( 桐 島 由 多 ) also shows up, an old friend of Nina's who also fell in love with her. Little by little, other friends of Nina's from the magical kingdom appear.

Differences Between Manga and Anime

In the anime, Nina Sakura comes into this world to find five sacred stones and then marry the prince of the magical kingdom. At the end she gives the stones to her good friend Maya Orihara, because she and the prince love each other.

Manga

The manga by Wataru Yoshizumi was published from February 2002 to January 2004 in the manga magazine Ribon of the Shueisha publishing house. The series was also summarized in five tankōbon .

In 2005 the series was published in English by Viz Media , in Spanish by Panini and in French by Glénat . Planet Manga published the work in Italian .

Tokyopop has published five volumes in German since August 2007 .

Anime

In 2002, Ashi Productions and Urumani Project produced a 29-minute OVA directed by Nanako Shimazaki. The character design comes from Miho Shimogasa and Kazuhiro Takahashi took over the artistic direction. The anime was later also broadcast on Animax .

In 2003, Animax, Ashi Productions and Urumani Project produced an anime - TV series with 26 episodes to manga. This was directed by Shin'ichi Masaki , Miho Shimogasa again took on the character design and Kazuhiro Takahashi the task of artistic director. The series aired on Animax from May 20, 2003 through November 11, 2003.

The music for the television series was composed by Toru Yugawa . The opening title Kagami no Naka and the closing song Hitotsu = Unmei Kyōdōtai come from can / goo.
