Um Krone und Leitsche is a German silent film and circus melodrama from 1919 by and with Fern Andra . The film was based on the literary model by Jean Kolzer .
action
Fern Andra plays a circus rider who is an artist with body and soul . One day she meets Count von Wallenberg and they both fall in love. When he has risen to the rank of Majorate , Egon asks for her hand. She accepts his proposal and they both get married. The fun-loving, free-spirited circus rider who is not at a loss for an open word soon becomes a thorn in the side of the grandmother of her countess husband. The old woman begins to intrigue against her.
Their intrigues soon became a success. While husband Egon is imprisoned in a fortress because of an illegal duel , she leaves him. The young woman returns to the circus and resumes her old job. Back home, Egon is deeply saddened that his wife has left him. His mother, who once gave the two of them the reason to break up, then decides to reunite Egon and his circus princess.
Production notes
The film, shot in the second half of 1918 and subject to a youth ban, has a length of 2245 meters on six acts and was shown in Germany for the first time in January 1919 in the Berlin marble house .
Occasionally the film is also led under the sensational title The Death Leap .
