When rerouting under easier conditions , the information about a possible rerouting and its identifying feature are incorporated into the operational timetable documents in order to simplify the rerouting of the train operations over a parallel route in the event of construction work and operational disruptions on railway lines. Where rerouting is not permitted under simplified conditions, a timetable notification is required to provide the timetable information .

The driver is informed about the diversion by a direction indicator , another position of a main signal or an oral notification and can see the changed route and corresponding alternative stops from the timetable.

example

If the driver is one of Essen central station according to Bochum main station traffic-forming regional train via a speed or direction indicator informs that the route direction opposite to the actual line path Steele runs, it may refer to the schedule, that it takes in Essen-Kray South and Wattenscheid in food- Steele and Wattenscheid-Höntrop should hold.
