The Edged narrow borer ( Agrilus cinctus ) is a beetle of the family of jewel beetle and the subfamily of Agrilinae .
features
The bronze-colored beetles are 5.5–10 mm long. The forehead of the beetle is flat and hardly furrowed. The pronotum is evenly rounded on the sides and widest halfway along. The slender wing covers are slightly outlined on the outer edge in front of the tip.
distribution
The distribution area of Agrilus cinctus extends from the Iberian Peninsula via France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Austria to Hungary and the northern Balkans . The species is rare in Germany and only occurs in the southwest and southeast.
Way of life
The beetle species prefers warm and dry areas such as sun-exposed forest edges and ruderal areas as habitat. The adults are observed from June to August, mainly on broom broom ( Cytisus scoparius ). The oligophagous larvae develop on non-thorny bushes of the genera gorse ( Genista ) and goat clover ( Cytisus ) as well as on awl broom ( Spartium junceum ).
