Umut Erdoğan (born January 16, 1982 in Heidelberg ) is a former German - Turkish soccer player and today's soccer coach .

Career

Umut Erdoğan joined the second team of the then second division club SV Waldhof Mannheim in 2000 . In 2002 Erdoğan was appointed to the professional squad and played three games in the second Bundesliga and two DFB Cup games for SV Waldhof. After the forced relegation to the league, Erdoğan remained loyal to SV Waldhof and completed 16 league games for SV Waldhof. After the missed direct recovery, Erdoğan switched to city rivals VfR Mannheim . After just one year at VfR Mannheim, Erdoğan moved to the Turkish Süper Lig at Manisaspor . Erdoğan played for various clubs in Turkey before returning to Germany in 2011 for family reasons and joining the Baden-Württemberg league club FC Nöttingen . There he played at the end of the 2011/12 season. In January 2013 he joined SpVgg 07 Ludwigsburg , where he was under contract until the summer. In August 2013 he went to the district league for SV Bondorf for a year . After his playing days he became an assistant coach at league rivals Türk. SV Herrenberg .
