Unai Osa

Unai Osa Eizaguirre (born June 12, 1975 in Zestoa ) is a former Spanish cyclist .

In 1993 Unai Osa was the Spanish junior road racing champion . In 1996 he won the Bidasoa Itzulia and the Memorial Valenciaga and in 1997 the junior ranking of the Grande Prémio Internacional de Torres Vedras .

In 1997 Osa signed a contract with the Spanish cycling team Banesto . In 1999 he won the Classique des Alpes and the Tour de l'Avenir . At the Giro d'Italia 2001 he was third in the overall classification behind Gilberto Simoni and Abraham Olano . He then took part in the Tour de France for the only time in 2002 and finished it in 18th place. 2006 Osa drove in the Spanish ProTeam Liberty Seguros-Würth of Manolo Saiz .

In the Fuentes doping scandal , Osa's name also appeared on Fuentes' list, which was deciphered by the Spanish judiciary.

Unai is the younger brother of Aitor Osa . The two rode in the same team from 1997.
