unclesally * s was a free, ten times appearing in music - and lifestyle - magazine with a focus in the areas of alternative music, film , fashion and mass media .
In addition to the numerous record reviews, the main focus was on detailed interviews as well as reports and categories such as the “Test”, “Rock'n'Roll Travel Guide” or “On the move”.
Current films, DVDs , books, comics, radio plays and computer games were also discussed.
The magazine was founded in 1994, and the first issue of unclesally * s appeared in December of this year. In 2007 the magazine was published nationwide by unclesally * s publishing house with a circulation of more than 130,000 copies.
The editorial office was in Berlin , the last editor-in-chief was Caroline Frey.
The magazine has been a festival organizer since 2004 . The annual music festival sally * sounds went on a festival tour through Hamburg , Cologne and Berlin for the first time in 2006 .
At the beginning of October 2011 it was announced that the magazine will be discontinued after 171 issues. The reason for this was the insufficient financial sustainability of a free magazine.
