Undercurrent (ア ン ダ ー カ レ ン ト, Andākarento) is a drama manga by the manga author Tetsuya Toyoda (豊 田 徹 也, Toyoda Tetsuya), which was released in Japan in 2004 and 2005. The action takes place in contemporary Japan and follows Kanae, the manager of a public bath whose husband disappeared while traveling.

Manga

The manga was published in Japan by Kodansha in the monthly Afternoon Seinen magazine from October 2004 to 2005. The publisher published the 11 chapters in a Tankōbon collective edition on November 22, 2005 in Japan ( ISBN 978-4-06-372092-1 ). The French edition of Kana was published on September 19, 2008 ( ISBN 978-2-505-00450-9 ). The Milky Way Ediciones publisher brought out a Spanish version.

reception

In France, the manga was made the official selection of the Angoulême International Comics Festival 2009 and won the Prix Asie-ACBD 2009. It was voted the best manga pick for 2008 by the Belgian newspaper Le Soir .
