Hungarian Film Week
The Hungarian Film Week ( Hungarian: Magyar Filmszemle ; Hungarian Feature Film Week until 1989 , Hungarian: Magyar Játékfilmszemle ) is the national film festival of Hungary .
The festival, which took place for the first time in 1965, shows a selection of current productions in Hungarian film , including feature films , television films , short films and, above all, documentaries . Several film prizes have been awarded (by an international jury since 2006) , including the Grand Prix for the best film. In addition, the Gene Moskowitz Prize of foreign film critics is awarded for the best feature film. The Hungarian Film Week has been taking place in Budapest since 1983 , previously it was based in Pécs . Your traditional appointment is at the end of January / beginning of February before the Berlinale . As a meeting point and figurehead for the domestic film industry, it is comparable to other national film festivals such as the Diagonale in Austria .
