history

UNIHOC was started in 1972 by the Swede Carl Åke Ahlqvist in Gothenburg Sweden. He introduced floorball to Sweden and imported plastic sticks. Over time, the company began to manufacture its own clubs.

In a first phase the clubs and shovels were made of plastic. In 1988 the company experimented with kevlar and in the same year made the first kevlar club. The first club made with composite material was introduced for more than ten years . Five years later, the first thermoformed shaft was made.

In 2004 the brand was taken over by the Swedish Renew Group. UNIHOC thus became the third floorball brand in the Renew Group's portfolio, alongside Zone and Reactor.

One year after the takeover by the Renew Group, the rounded "Curve" shaft was introduced. In 2013, the company secured the bid for the official match ball in the SSL , the highest Swedish floorball division. The Swedish head of the association, Göran Harnesk, announced that the contract with UNIHOC's parent company, the Renew Group, was set to run for three years. In 2014, the global floorball association extended its cooperation with the manufacturer of floorball equipment. The manufacturer will therefore use Unihoc material for all IFF events.

In cooperation with the material manufacturer TeXtreme, the lightest racket approved by the IFF was brought onto the market in 2015 .
