The Unilabs SA , headquartered in Geneva, is an internationally active Swiss diagnostics company with a focus in the areas of laboratory diagnostics and radiology . It carries out medical analyzes for large parts of the health system in its 80  laboratories in twelve European countries . The group of companies employs around 4651 people and in 2012 generated sales of 568 million euros.

Unilabs was founded in 1987 in Geneva with branches in Bern and St. Gallen. In 1989 a location was opened in Turin and a presence in Italy was established. The international expansion continued the following year with the acquisition of three laboratories in Spain. As a result, Unilabs continued to expand its activities through takeovers and the opening of new locations both in Germany and abroad. Unilabs SA, which was listed on the SWX Swiss Exchange until mid-March 2008 , merged in autumn 2007 with the diagnostics division that had been separated from the Swedish Capio group. The largest competitor in Switzerland is Viollier AG .
