The Union Volleyball Waldviertel is an Austrian volleyball club from the Waldviertel in Lower Austria . The sports club was founded as Union Volleyball Arbesbach. The syndicate has existed since 1997 and is a member of the Lower Austrian Volleyball Association . The home games are played in the Stadthalle Zwettl, the club colors are blue and black.
history
Union Volleyball Waldviertel was founded as Union Volleyball Arbesbach, which in the middle of 1990 decided not only to offer youth work in volleyball in the Waldviertel, but also to compete in 1st grade and finish with 4th place. Just one year later, in 1996, the club was the first club from the Waldviertel to play in the 1st Bundesliga. The next few years the club rose to the state league. In 2003 the Arbesbachers played in the 2nd Bundesliga and since 2006 in the Austrian Volley League. The club management strove to establish syndicates and cooperations with the neighboring volleyball clubs, including in Zwettl. From the 2011/12 season, the SG Arbesbach started the championship, in 2013/14 the syndicate was renamed Union Volleyball Waldviertel. In 2014, SMS Zwettl was the first partner school to cooperate with Union Volleyball Arbesbach, and in 2017 the IMC University of Applied Sciences Krems .
