UNIQA Austria (official spelling UNIQA Österreich Versicherungen AG) is an Austrian insurance company and part of the UNIQA Insurance Group based in the UNIQA Tower in Vienna.
UNIQA Austria Insurance AG
The 6,000 employees at UNIQA Austria serve 3.6 million customers with around 10.5 million insurance contracts. Uniqa Austria achieved a market share of 21 percent in 2019 and is the largest company among the more than 50 insurers operating in Austria and, according to the Austrian Insurance Association, the best-known domestic insurance brand. In 2016, Salzburger-Landesversicherung, Finance Life and Raiffeisen Versicherung were merged into Uniqa Austria as the receiving company.
Hartwig Löger was CEO of UNIQA Austria from 2011 to December 2017, and Kurt Svoboda succeeded him in this function in December 2017.
Range of services
UNIQA Österreich Versicherungen AG operates all lines of personal and property insurance. The company sells the products through its own exclusive sales force as well as through brokers and general agencies. With market shares of around 28% in accident insurance , 16% in property insurance and 45% in health insurance , Uniqa Austria was the market leader in the country in 2019 and, with 18%, it was second in life insurance .
