The Unitarian Church in Cluj ( Hungarian : Kolozsvári unitárius templom , romänisch : Biserica Unitariană din Cluj ) is a late 18th century in the center of the Transylvanian Cluj in Baroque style built Unitarian Church. The community belongs to the Hungarian influenced Unitarian Church of Transylvania to.

Between 1566 and 1716, the city's Unitarian community used the Michaelskirche located on the main square . In the course of the Counter Reformation , however, it was re- Catholicized again . After 1716, the congregation first met in private homes. It was only under Joseph II that it became possible to build one's own church again. In advance, however, donations had to be collected for the construction and a suitable plot of land had to be purchased.

The building was finally designed as a three-aisled church by the Viennese architect Türk Anthony and built between 1792 and 1798 in a Baroque style combined with elements from Rococo and Classicism . The facade is dominated by an onion dome placed towards the street front , which, however, only got its final shape in 1908 under Louis Pákey. The Latin inscription above the entrance to the church In honorem solius dei MDCCXCVI (Only God the Honor 1796) represents the main idea of the Unitarian denomination. The interior of the church is baroque. The wide barge is flanked by two narrow aisles. The apse is semicircular and the vestibule (the porch of the church) faces south. The Lord's Supper is in the center . The pulpit, decorated with acanthus leaves, has elements of the Rococo. The pilasters end with Doric and Ionic capitals . The neoclassical stucco decor includes sculptures, garlands and grapes. A church organ was only installed in 1806 for financial reasons. The current organ dates from 1930. Inside the church there is a memorial stone to the Unitarian reformer Franz David . According to legend, David preached a sermon on this stone in 1556 that convinced the citizens of the city of Unitarianism.

At the end of the First World War , two out of three church bells were stolen. The building was restored several times, so in 1805/1806, 1831 and most recently between 1996 and 2004. The church is registered as a historical building by the Romanian Ministry of Culture.
