The United States Army Installation Management Command (IMCOM) is a main command of the United States Army (version: Direct Reporting Unit ). It supports the armed forces with services and infrastructure. The headquarters is located in Fort Sam Houston ( Texas ).

history

The command was set up on October 24, 2006. The reason for this was a streamlining of the command structure, so that the following units were integrated into IMCOM:

1.) Installation Management Agency (IMA)
2.) Community and Family Support Center (now renamed Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation Command (FMWRC) )
3.) Army Environmental Center (now renamed Army Environmental Command (AEC) ) .

Before the formation of IMCOM, 184 army facilities were managed by 15 main commands.
