The Universidad Libre ( German Free University , short Unilibre ) is a private secular university in Colombia , which was founded in the 19th century under the name Universidad Republicana in Bogotá .
The original intention of this academy was to provide space for impartial learning during a radical political period in the country. So the correct translation would actually be Freedom University because it promotes freedom of expression and political thought.
The seat is in the municipality of La Candelaria in Bogotá , with additional locations in Barranquilla , Cali , Cartagena , Cucuta , Socorro and Pereira . The Colegio de la Universidad Libre is located in Bogotá.
Subjects include administration, accounting, law, economics, education, philosophy, technology and health.
