Career

Aleksandr Polozov began his career as a hockey player in the youth department of the Czech club HC Ceska Lipa, for which he competed in the second highest Czech U18 league from 2001 to 2002. The attacker then played for three years for the second team of Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the third-class Russian Pervaya League before he moved to Vaasan Sport in the Mestis , the second Finnish division. In 2006 he returned to his homeland, but only played four games for Välk 494 from the Estonian League and then returned to the Pervaya League, where he laced his boots for Kombat Saint Petersburg. When, in 2007, the Tartu Big Diamonds, an Estonian professional team for participation in the Latvian ice hockey league, was founded, Polozov joined this team and, after a strong season, was elected to the all-star team of the Latvian league.
