The 2011 season is the seventh season of the New Zealand Ice Hockey League , the highest New Zealand Ice Hockey League . Botany Swarm became champion for the fourth time in the club's history .

In the regular season, each of the five teams played a total of 16 games. The top two teams qualify for the championship finals. Each team receives three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, one point for a tie and defeat after overtime and zero points for a defeat after normal time.
