The 2010 season was the sixth season of the New Zealand Ice Hockey League , the highest New Zealand Ice Hockey League . The Botany Swarm became champions for the third time in the club's history .

In the regular season, each of the five teams played a total of 16 games. The two best-placed teams qualified for the championship finals. Each team received three points for a win after regular time, two points for a win after overtime, one point for a draw and a defeat after overtime and zero points for a defeat after normal time.
