The University Library of the Technical University of Munich is the scientific information center of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). It is a central service facility of the university and is accessible to a broad group of users (members of the TUM and private individuals). Every year around 1.72 million people visit the university library with its nine branch libraries; 464,000 loans and renewals were recorded. The library has had a quality management system certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 since 2007 .
Organizational structure and locations
The TUM University Library has nine branch libraries at the four university locations in Munich, Garching , Freising and Straubing . It is organized in a single-tier library system .
The following three branch libraries can be found in Munich:

On the research campus in Garching are the
- Chemistry branch library ⊙
- Mechanical engineering branch library ⊙
- Mathematics & Computer Science Branch Library ⊙

The following sub-libraries are located at the Weihenstephan Science Center and the Straubing Science Center :
Inventory and equipment
The TUM University Library provides more than 1.97 million media, including 2,140 printed and 37,000 electronic journals, 127,000 e-books, and 2,100 databases. All media can be researched using the library's online catalog (OPAC).
The range of literature in the university library is tailored to the focus of studies and research at the Technical University of Munich and includes scientific and technical literature from the fields of mathematics, computer science, physics, chemistry, engineering, architecture, medicine, sports and health sciences, nutritional sciences, environmental sciences, and agricultural and horticultural sciences, life sciences, brewing and food technology, forestry and resource management, landscape architecture and planning, economics, and education.
The TUM University Library is the official display point for DIN standards . This means that anyone interested can view all current DIN standards free of charge at the Munich, Garching, Weihenstephan and Straubing locations.
