The University Hospital of Odense ( Odense Universitetshospital , OUH) is one of the University of Southern Denmark affiliated university hospital and the largest hospital in the Region of Southern Denmark . In terms of the total number of beds, the OUH is the largest hospital unit in Denmark . Special fields are coronary heart diseases , infectious diseases and cancer , allergies , diabetes , diseases of the esophagus , gout and connective tissue diseases , child and adolescent medicine as well as replantation of fingers, hands, etc.

The OUH is the largest employer on the island of Funen . In 2010 the clinic had a total budget of almost 5.3 billion DKK (almost 713 million euros) and employs around 10,000 people.

Until the establishment of the Danish administrative regions in 2007, the hospital was operated by the County of Funen . Since then it has been subordinate to the region of Southern Denmark . Jane Kraglund has been the director since September 2009.
