The University Peak is a 4,410 m high mountain in the Saint Elias Mountains in Alaska near the border to Canadian territory Yukon .
It is located in Wrangell St. Elias National Park in the Copper River basin , 6 km southwest of Mount Bona and 61 km southeast of McCarthy .
The first ascent took place on June 19, 1955 by Keith Hart, Leon Blumer, Sheldon Brooks, Tim Kelly, Norman Sanders, Gibson Reynolds and R. Houston. The mountain was named in 1952 by Terris More, then President of the University of Alaska .
