The nonsense Fahrzeugtechnik GmbH is a German manufacturer of car trailers, based in Holzheim , district of Donau-Ries , Bavaria . The main focus of production are braked trailers from 2 to 3.5 tons and special trailer designs tailored to a wide variety of industries.
Company history
Leonhard Unsinn founded a blacksmith's workshop with agricultural machinery repairs and a gas station in 1958 . Soon he was also building agricultural trailers. In the following 30 years the company expanded and new production halls were built in which, for example, liquid manure tanks were manufactured. One of the developments was the mobile crockery. In 1991 the entire company was destroyed by a major fire. In 1992, the son Josef Unsinn and his wife Rosa took over and concentrated on vehicle construction when the production building was rebuilt. The range of models has been expanded and special industry solutions have been developed, which have received several significant awards.
Since then, we have worked continuously on production processes, innovation, quality and service, so that the number of employees and sales are constantly increasing; even in years of recession, the trend remained slightly positive. The Holzheim location has been continuously expanded: new office building (1997), new production location for box trailers (1998), exhibition hall (2003), further production hall (2005), "THE TRAILER PARK" in the Pessenburgheim district (2008) and further extensions in 2011 and 2015 with production, storage and dispatch halls. A new welding shop is currently being built (2018/19).

In 2017 the company produced around 12,000 trailers for Germany and abroad, the focus is on braked trailers with a gross vehicle weight of 2 tons or more. Nonsense is one of the international specialists in the design and manufacture of trailers tailored to a wide variety of industries. The company has around 500 models to choose from, a number of which can be customized.
Unsinn employs 240 people and an average of 20 trainees (2018) in technical, manual and commercial professions.
Other lines of business
Unsinn-Fahrzeugtechnik offers all-round service for trailers, including those of other makes. Used trailers and rentals are also offered.

In addition to the dealer network throughout Germany, Unsinn also has partners in other European countries such as Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
Awards
In both 2011 and 2014, Unsinn-Fahrzeugtechnik received Bavaria's best 50 award from the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs as a particularly high-growth medium - sized company .
For innovations such as the telescopic container trailer and the unloading lift for drinks vehicles, Unsinn has twice been awarded the Bavarian State Prize. This award is given “For excellent performance at the international craft fair in Munich”.
The company was awarded the special craft prize of the Anton Jaumann Prize in 2010.
