Under one roof is a six-part mini-series from 1990. The script was written by Herbert Lichtenfeld and directed by Christian Görlitz .

The innkeeper and farmer Karl Hoffmann found out by telegram that the distant relatives in Romania had successfully emigrated and are looking for accommodation with him. He finds advice from his rich brother Bruno.

The series first appeared on September 20, 1990, and was repeated once from 1991.

criticism

Herta Müller , who later won the Nobel Prize for Literature, panned the series in an article for Der Spiegel . She particularly criticized the false and prejudiced portrayal of the Romanian German emigrants.
