The Lower Lauensberg is a former nature reserve in the Lower Saxony town of Alfeld (Leine) in the Hildesheim district .

The nature reserve with the registration number NSG HA 096 was 9.3  hectares in size. It was almost completely part of the FFH area “Seven Mountains, Foothills” and surrounded by the landscape protection area “Seven Mountains and Foothills”. The area has been under nature protection since May 8, 1986. On December 28, 2017, the newly designated nature reserve " Dry habitats - seven mountains, foothills " opened. The responsible lower nature conservation authority was the Hildesheim district.

The former nature reserve is located north of the Eimsen district, which belongs to Alfeld, and east of the Wettensen district on the lower south-west slope of the Lauensberg in the Seven Mountains . It protects an area on shallow limestone with an alternation of semi- arid grassland and lean grassland with bushes and fringes. In the northwest there is a deciduous forest that was previously managed as coppice forest.
