Unterwiesenbach is a district of the municipality of Wiesenbach in the Swabian district of Günzburg . The church village is located in a western side valley of the Günz am Schwarzbach .
history
Goods belonging to the Elchingen Monastery have been mentioned in the village since 1225 . The place probably served as the seat of the von Wiesenbach family in the 13th century, as there is a castle stable about 600 meters southeast of the church .
Unterwiesenbach belonged to Roggenburg Abbey since 1447 . As a result of the expansion of the monastery property , Unterwiesenbach became the seat of a monastery vogte .
On May 1, 1978, the previously independent communities Oberegg and Oberwiesenbach were incorporated into the community Unterwiesenbach.
On October 31, 1978, the name of the community Unterwiesenbach was officially changed to Wiesenbach .
