Unterzwieselau is a district of the municipality of Lindberg in the Lower Bavarian district of Regen .
location
Unterzwieselau is located about 1.5 kilometers southeast of Lindberg, a little northwest of Oberzwieselau .
history
The Zwieselauer Glashütte, which was first mentioned in 1450, was one of the oldest in the Bavarian Forest . This original hut stood in today's Unterzwieselau and was acquired by Joachim Poschinger in 1568. The ironworks produced mirrors, and Poschinger expanded the range to include table, eye and hollow glass. In 1587 the smelter was divided up: Paulus Poschinger, Joachim's older son, received Unterzwieselau, Hans, the younger Oberzwieselau and a new glassworks. On May 15, 1604, Paulus Poschinger sold the Unterzwieselau property to his cousin Adam Jungmaier and instead acquired the Frauenau glassworks a year later .
On November 20, 1640, Adam Jungmaier's widow Brigitte sold the glassworks and the associated forest to her son-in-law Hans Preißler in Oberzwieselau and the agricultural land to the farmer Hans Geiger from Lindberg. This reunited the Ober- and Unterzwieselau glassworks. Since the hut in Unterzwieselau was badly run down, Hans Preissler no longer ran it.
After Preißler, the Poschinger , then the Hilz and from 1810 the Poschinger again owned the property. When it was divided into the Oberzwieselau and Hilzenhütte (now Buchenau ) estates in 1855/1856 , Unterzwieselau became part of the Oberzwieselau estate.
Unterzwieselau formed its own chairman in the district court of Zwiesel , which was designated the main team in 1809 and came to the Lindberg community when the community was formed in 1821. In terms of pastoral care, Unterzwieselau is part of the Zwiesel parish. In 1925 a school chapel was built, the current branch church of the Holy Family. In 1954 a separate cemetery was added, and in 1961 a morgue. In 1981 the school in Unterzwieselau was closed.
