Maurice Uriel "Uri" Coronel (born December 24, 1946 in Amsterdam ; † July 18, 2016 ) was a Dutch football official . From 2008 to 2011 he was President of Ajax Amsterdam .

Live and act

Coronel became a board member of his home club AFC Ajax in 1989. In this role, he played a key role in the planning and implementation of the construction of the Amsterdam Arena . He took over the presidency in 2008 from his predecessor John Jaakke. After a comparatively short term of three years, Coronel announced its resignation in March 2011. The main reasons he named disagreements with club legend Johan Cruyff .
