Uroš Rakovec

Uroš Rakovec (born February 25, 1972 in Kranj ) is a Slovenian guitarist and composer .

Rakovec has been playing the guitar since he was eight. He first attended the music school in Škofja Loka , where Uroš Lovšin taught him, then the secondary music school in Ljubljana with Tomaž Šeguli. He then completed a jazz course at Berklee College of Music in Boston and at the Carinthian State Conservatory in Klagenfurt.

Rakovec initially worked as a music teacher. Since 2006 he has accompanied the singer Tamara Obrovac ; With her Transhistrian Ensemble he has recorded several albums with Istrian ethno jazz . He also plays in the Brdnik-Rakovec-Peršl Trio with accordionist Marko Brdnik and drummer Gašper Peršl. He also writes theater and film music , so far he has produced music for around 40 theater productions and several feature films such as Das Rascheln (2002), Kurzschluss (2006), Lajf (2008) and the television series Hrcek Miha .

In 2009 the record label Jazz in Blues released an album by his Uroš Rakovec Trio entitled Poganjki . He can also be heard on albums by Amala, Mildreds, Ba-Rock, Astrid and Daniel Nösig / Tonč Feinig ( Fuzzroom ).
