Urs Zimmermann (pastor)

Urs Zimmermann (* 1942 , legal resident in Affoltern am Albis ) is a Swiss Reformed pastor and politician ( EPP ). From 2005 to 2010 he was a member of the Council of the Federation of Swiss Evangelical Churches (SEK).

After studying and doing a parish internship (vicariate), Zimmermann was first a pastor in a parish in the Aargau Seetal and then for 29 years in the parish of Wettingen - Neuenhof . In the dean's office in Baden, he was dean for a few years and in the 2003–2006 term of office he was synodal president of the Reformed Church in Aargau . He was also a member of the Council of the SEK from July 2005 to the end of 2010.

After his retirement, Zimmermann ran in 2009 on the list of the EPP for the Grand Council of the Canton of Aargau and came first in the district of Baden (Aargau) behind the elected Lilian Studer .

Urs Zimmermann is married to the former EPP Councilor Elsbeth Zimmermann and has four grown children.
