Ursula Baatz (* 1951 in Vienna ) is an Austrian author and journalist. She became known as the biographer of the Zen teacher Hugo Makibi Enomiya-Lassalle .

Life

Baatz studied philosophy and initially taught as a Roman Catholic. Religious teacher at an elementary school. In 1981 she received her doctorate in philosophy from the University of Vienna. phil. Baatz had lectureships at the Institute for Philosophy in Vienna on Buddhism reception and at the Evangelical Theological Faculty in Vienna on religious studies. From 1974 to 2011 she worked as a journalist at ORF , mainly at Ö1 radio in the science and religion departments.

Baatz made trips to Asia and is associated with Zen . She is co-editor of the Polylog magazine for intercultural philosophizing .
