Ursula (Ulla) Meurer (born August 27, 1955 in Schlitz (Vogelsbergkreis) ) is a state politician ( SPD ) in North Rhine-Westphalia .

Life

After graduating from the Hallenburg School in 1975, Ursula Meurer studied history and German studies at the Rheinisch-Westfälische-Technische Hochschule Aachen from 1979 to 1983 . She then began training as an industrial clerk, which she successfully completed in 1990.

Meurer is married and has two children.

politics

Meurer has been a member of the SPD since 1983. Since 1994 she has been a member of the sub-district executive of the Social Democratic Community for Local Politics (SGK) in Heinsberg . Until 2014 she was on the sub-district executive of the SPD in Heinsberg and is state chairwoman of the Working Group of Social Democratic Women (AsF) in North Rhine-Westphalia. Meurer has been on the board of the SPD local association Übach-Palenberg since 2012. She is chairwoman of the AG 60plus in Übach-Palenberg.

From 1984 to 1989 Ursula Meurer was an expert citizen in the school committee and deputy expert citizen in the culture committee of the city of Heinsberg. From 1989 to 1999 and since 2004 Meurer has been a city councilor in the city of Heinsberg. From 1994 to 1999 she also held the post of deputy group chairman there.

From 2005 to 2010 Ursula Meurer was a member of the State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia , among other things as a member of the Committee on Labor, Health and Social Affairs, the Committee on Women's Policy and the Committee on Generations, Family and Integration.
