Ursula Pixa-Kettner , also Uschi Pixa-Kettner (born November 4, 1948 in Stuttgart ; † December 12, 2013 in Bremen ) was a German psychologist , educationalist and university teacher.

Family, education and work

Pixa-Kettner was the daughter of the architect Wilhelm Kettner and Margarete Kettner geb. Wildermuth. She had two siblings. She married Manfred Pixa in 1973; the marriage was divorced in 1977.

After attending the primary school in Ruit (Ostfildern) near Stuttgart and the Heidehof-Gymnasium Stuttgart until 1967, she studied psychology at the University of Gießen from 1967 to 1976 and psychology and educational science at the University of Hamburg . In 1976 she passed the first state examination for teaching at elementary and secondary schools. In 1979 she did her doctorate on the subject of “Person-centered group and individual discussions with mentally impaired secondary school students from 5th / 6th grade. Classes. ”From 1979 to 1982 she was employed at the University of Hamburg.

University professor

Pixa-Kettner was appointed professor at the University of Bremen in 1982 in the field of education for the disabled , inclusive education . In 2011 she had to quit her job because she was seriously ill. From 2001 to 2005 she was dean of Faculty 12 Education and Training .

Her focus of work was the parenting of people with intellectual disabilities. She was one of the pioneers in women's studies at the University of Bremen.
