Ursula Schneider (lawyer)

Ursula Schneider (born April 4, 1956 in Cologne ) is a German lawyer and judge at the Federal Court of Justice .

Career

The daughter of the criminologist Hans Joachim Schneider began studying psychology and law after graduating from high school . Following the second state examination in law, the examination to become a qualified psychologist and the doctorate to become a Dr. iur. In 1988 she entered the higher judicial service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia . There she initially worked at the Regional Court of Dortmund , the District Court of Dortmund , the Regional Court of Essen and the State Justice Examination Office. In 1992 Schneider was appointed judge at the Dortmund Regional Court.

From 1994 to 1997 she was seconded to the Federal Ministry of Justice . She was then transferred to the Federal Ministry of Justice and appointed government director. In 2003 she was promoted to Ministerial Councilor . In the Ministry of Justice, Schneider was initially responsible for the general part of the Criminal Code , and later as head of the department . Since 2007 she has been working in the bioethics department.

On May 19, 2008, Schneider was appointed judge at the Federal Court of Justice. Here she was assigned to the 5th Criminal Senate by the Presidium .
