Ursula Thielemann

Ursula Thielemann (born January 9, 1960 in Hanau , after marrying Jonscher ) is a former German hockey player and Olympic participant in 1984.

The goalkeeper Ursula Thielemann was with the 1st Hanauer THC 1981 and 1984 German champion in field hockey and 1983 in indoor hockey.

She made her debut in 1979 in the German national hockey team . Her first major success was the title at the European Indoor Championships in 1981, with Thielemann already retiring from the first game after 78 seconds with a knee injury. In 1983 Thielemann came fourth at the world championship, and in 1984 she won bronze at the first European championship. In the same year she drove to the 1984 Olympic Games as a substitute goal woman behind Susanne Leonie Schmid . There she became a goalkeeper during the tournament. The German team won silver behind the team from the Netherlands. Ursula Thielemann played a total of 38 international matches from 1979 to 1987.

The trained computer scientist is married to a former swimmer, has a son and works for Deutsche Lufthansa.
