Urszula Modrzyńska (born February 23, 1928 in Srebrniki , † December 11, 2010 in Łódź ) was a Polish actress .

Life

Modrzyńska began her acting career in Toruń in 1949 . In 1954 she completed her external acting diploma. In previous years she played in theaters in Kalisz and Poznań . In 1954 she moved to the Jaracz Theater in Łódź and also made her cinema debut. Andrzej Wajda gave her the female lead in his debut film One Generation in 1955 . She played another memorable role in 1960 in The Crusaders by Aleksander Ford . However, she mainly played theater. In 1960 she moved from the Jaracz Theater to the Teatr Nowy in Łódź, where she was part of the ensemble until 1983, apart from a one-year break in 1966/67 at the Teatr Polski in Warsaw . After minor guest roles until 1986, she finally withdrew from the theater stage into private life.
