Uta Steinhardt

Uta Steinhardt (born June 9, 1964 in Wolfen ) has been a professor and former dean of the Department of Landscape Use and Nature Conservation at the University for Sustainable Development in Eberswalde (FH) since 2002 . From 1983 to 1988 she studied geography and mathematics at the University of Potsdam . In 1991 she did her doctorate there on the subject of methodological approaches to the area-specific differentiation of forest damage on the basis of remote sensing data . In 2004 she completed her habilitation in the subjects of physical geography and landscape ecology. After extensive research stays in Germany and Switzerland, in Poland, Alaska and South Africa, financed by research grants, the effects of climate change and sustainable landscape management in Brandenburg form her current research focus.

Uta Steinhardt is deputy chairwoman of the German section of the “ International Association for Landscape Ecology ” (IALE).
