Utricularia reniformis is a species of water tube ( Utricularia ). This carnivorous plant thrives only in the southern Brazilian coastal mountains.

Vegetative characteristics
Utricularia reniformis grows both terrestrially and epiphytically . For Utricularia species it has quite large leaves . The leaves consist of a petiole up to 30 cm long and a kidney-shaped leaf blade with a diameter of up to 14 cm. The traps are 0.7 to 1.5 mm in size and are densely covered by glands . They have two unbranched dorsal appendages.
Generative characteristics
On the up to 1 m long inflorescence there are 3 to 14 approximately 4 cm large flowers. The palate of the violet-blue corolla is characterized by two golden-yellow, strip-shaped juice marks , which are framed by red-violet edges.
Occurrence
Utricularia reniformis only grows in the coastal mountains of southern Brazil . There they can be found in large numbers in the Organ Mountains on Mt. Itatiaia, for example .
Utricularia reniformis thrives in coastal mountains at altitudes between 750 and 1900 meters. It grows in constantly moist grass formations in the midst of eyrie grasses .

Utricularia reniformis was of Augustin Saint-Hilaire in 1830 first described . Utricularia reniformis belongs to the section Orchidioides in the subgenus Utricularia within the genus Utricularia
