Uwe Jank (born March 6, 1950 in Großräschen ) is a former German soccer player in midfield . He played for BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Career

In his youth, Jank played for his home clubs BSG Aufbau Großräschen and BSG activist Großräschen-Süd . In 1968 he was hired by the BSG activist Brieske-Senftenberg . A year later he was playing for ASG Vorwärts Cottbus because of military service . In 1972 Jank returned to the BSG activist Brieske-Senftenberg, but left the club in the following season and joined BSG Energie Cottbus, which played in the GDR major league. Jank made his debut on August 18, 1973 when he was in the starting line-up in a 1-1 draw against FC Karl-Marx-Stadt on the first day of the match . However, he was substituted in the 39th minute and replaced by Hans Böttcher . In the 1973/74 season , Jank was used eight more times. After relegation to the second-rate GDR league, he played seven times for Cottbus in 1974/75 . After the 1975/76 season with 19 games, Jank moved to TSG Lübbenau 63 , for which he was active for six years. From 1982 to 1984 he was still a player-coach at the BSG activist Dissenchen.

After his active career, Jank worked for two more years as head coach in Dissenchen . He then coached the youth of ESV Lok Cottbus, before becoming a first team coach for a year there in 2002.
