Uwe John (politician)

Uwe John (born July 4, 1950 in Braunschweig ; † March 3, 2008 ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life

John was born in Lower Saxony. After graduating from secondary school , he joined the Schleswig-Holstein State Police in 1969 . In 1971 he became a member of the Police Union . From 1974 he worked at the criminal police office in Kiel and was taken over by the criminal police in 1978. From 1983 to 1987 John was a member of the staff council .

In 1977 John joined the SPD. In 1978 he was elected to the local council of Horst (Holstein) , to which he initially belonged until 1982 and again from 1990. In the SPD, among other things, he was district chairman in the Steinburg district and from 1991 a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state board .

In 1987 John was elected to the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament in the Steinburg-Süd state constituency. He also received the direct mandate in the constituency in 1988; In 1992 he was elected in the constituency of Steinburg-West. In the state parliament he was a member of various committees, including the submission committee, the home and legal committee and the economic committee. From 1988 to 1992 he was a member of the state election committee and the judge election committee . In 1996, John resigned from the state parliament at the end of the electoral term.

John was married and lived in Horst.
