Uwe Möllhusen

Uwe Möllhusen (* 1956 in Berlin ) is a German musician and media artist .

Life

Möllhusen worked as a musician in the 1970s, influenced by the Fluxus movement. He has lived as a freelance media artist since 1984. In the 1990s he worked in the field of new media with video and computer technology.

At the same time, he worked on digital music, using the techniques of collage, montage and editing, primarily working on music from the 1950s and early 1960s. He founded the group Elektrotwist (with Jörg Meyerink ), whose music moves in the border area between pop and avant-garde . Film and ballet music, video clips and numerous recordings were made. The group also performed live on three European tours.

Möllhusen has been a member of the Weltausstellung artist collective ( Thilo Schölpen , Robert Schleisiek , Uli Kürner , Anja Lautermann , Peter Issig , Dirk Ferdinand and Stefan Juerke ) since 2004 , which presents concerts and multimedia performances and installations.
