Robert Schleisiek

Robert Schleisiek (born October 7, 1965 in Osnabrück ) is a German pianist ( jazz , new improvisation music ).

Schleisiek had lessons at the Osnabrück Conservatory . From 1987 to 1992 he studied improvisation, jazz and classical music at the Amsterdam University of the Arts . Since then he has lived in Cologne as a pianist, composer and teacher . In 1999 he recorded the album Hot Music in a trio with Christian Thomé and Stefan Döring , which was released on the Cologne label 2nd Floor Music . Between 2000 and 2006 he worked with Carl Ludwig Hübsch , Tom Lorenz , Ole Schmidt and Chris Weinheimer in the group Post No Bills , which, in addition to jazz music, also performs contemporary classical compositions (e.g. John Cages Variations and Number Pieces and Christian Wolffs Exercises ). Since 2004 he has been active in the artist collective Weltausstellung ( Thilo Schölpen , Uli Kürner , Uwe Möllhusen , Anja Lautermann , Peter Issig , Dirk Ferdinand and Stefan Juerke ), which presents concerts and multimedia performances and installations; occasionally he now appears in a duo with Schölpen.
