Uwe Söhngen

Uwe Söhngen (born September 16, 1961 near Wetzlar ) is a German lawyer . He is a judge at the Federal Social Court .

Live and act

After high school and community service, Söhngen studied law at the University of Giessen from 1981 . There he passed his first state examination in law in 1987. After his legal clerkship, he passed the second state examination in Wiesbaden in 1990. In November 1990 he joined the judicial service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and became a judge at the Dortmund Social Court . Three years later he was appointed a judge for life. From 1996 to 2009 he also lectured as a lecturer for administrative and social law at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences . In 2003 he first moved to the State Social Court of North Rhine-Westphalia for testing , and in September 2004 he was appointed judge at the State Social Court. From 2007 to 2011 he was also a member, most recently deputy chairman of the main judges' council. With effect from February 1, 2014, Söhngen was appointed judge at the Federal Social Court. He was assigned to the 4th Senate responsible for basic security for job seekers .

Söhngen was scientifically active, among other things, through contributions and comments in the field of employment promotion law , the law of basic security and social assistance law . He is married and has four children.
